As one of the first independent documentary production companies in Sri Lanka, Video Image has covered a wide scope of topics and fields.  We have done many wildlife projects, and also cover various social concerns and awareness issues, both in Sri Lanka and the South Asian region.

Video Image also renders Filming and Post Production facilities for international producers that cover both national and regional stories. Much more than just an equipment rental service, Video Image offers seasoned professional crews capable of matching any international production standards be it in filming, reporting or research.

 
 

Video Image has produced documentaries for various NGO’s, Government and International agencies.  Our services are also available to private companies that need to document their projects and events. Some of our prestigious international clientele include BBC, CNN, ABC, NASA, FOXTEL, Granada TV, The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Amazing Race, Discovery Channel, the Academy Awards, Intelsat, TV2 Norway, ITT Industries, Nokia, the Laureus Foundation and the American Film Institute, Lions Club International etc.

Notable Projects:
In 2002, Video Image produced a six-film documentary series “Silent Voices” that promotes the right to be different from one's dominant environment. The series was filmed in India and Pakistan, outlining stories about exiled Afghan musicians in Peshawar, an outcast painter from Lahore, dying fisher community of Makran coast, story about the city of Mumbai, island of Diu and the exiled Tibetan society in Dharamsala.

 
 

In 2003, Video Image produced a documentary on human-elephant conflict on the Island, describing the magnitude of the problem as well as efforts being done to enable survival of Sri Lankan elephants.

In 2005 Video Image was part of truly unique documentary series.  Titled "Children of Tsunami" the documentaries were an Asia Pacific regional communications initiative that tracked how ordinary people rebuilt their lives and livelihoods after the devastation of the Asian tsunami of December 2004. 

Eight children were used as a microcosm of the Asian recovery process following one of the worst natural disasters of recent memory.  The four most highly affected countries - Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India and Thailand were documented, with Video Image covering the Sri Lankan segment.
